The Dark Skies Festival  runs from Friday 9 – Sunday 25 February 2018 and is a not an event that many visiting the Yorkshire countryside are aware of yet but are definitely  worth experiencing.

The North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales are reportedly  a stargazer’s paradise, boasting  some of the best night skies in the country. From cycling, walking and running to wildlife-watching, stargazing parties and daytime rocket-making workshops, look up and look out, and discover more about the sky above you.”

Another winter wonder in the area is the Snowdrop Spectacular at Burton Agnes where you can enjoy  the breathtaking display of snowdrops.
