This extremely popular long running tv series was filmed in North Yorkshire . the setting for the fictional “Aidenfield” was the village of Goathland . A popular tourist attraction the village has a pub, tea rooms and is also home to the station of Goathland on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Other stations on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway are Whitby, Grosmont, Newtondale Halt, Levisham and Pickering.
60s Fest with North Yorkshire Moors Railway
60s Fest 2019 take place in July with events and special train journeys taking place at the Pickering Levisham and Goathland stations along the North Yorkshire Moors Railway line (NYMR). Why not visit Levisham Station where you will be able to experience The Vox Beatles tribute band, with hit songs from the Cavern Club & Hamburg early days, Beatlemania, Sgt Pepper/Magical Mystery Tour, White Album & Rooftop eras.
On the 13th and 14th July at Goathland Station, once known as Aidensfield of Heartbeat fame, you can enjoy the sixties sounds of Dusty ‘Miss Sixties’ Springfield throughout the day and in the evenings enjoy the music of The Sonics. Goathland Station will be a true picture of the sixties decked out in individual sixties style with a beer tent and live music across the weekend! as well as classic cars.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway invites you to travel along the heritage line (Pickering to Grosmont Return where you can hop on & hop off all day and enjoy the sounds of the 60s. Tickets are bound to be popular so we would advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Pickering Station will also have live music, displays and an evening show dubbed ‘The Big Night Out’, which will be hosted by Minster FM.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is a great experience at any time of the year. The timetable is more frequent in the summer months and 60s Fest 2019 in July and the Annual Steam Gala in September are 2019 are great highlights for any train or 60s enthusiast
